Rebecca A. Reiber, 68, of Parker City, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 6, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 17, 1941 in Windsor, IN, the daughter of Herschel Lowell and Claudia (Thorpe) Johnson.
Becky was retired in 1998, after 15 years, as a Superior Court Clerk at the Randolph Co. Courthouse.
She enjoyed playing Euchre' and computer games. She enjoyed travel and the beaches of Florida.
Becky leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 20 years, Cecil Reiber; a son, Marc Thornburg of Farmland; a daughter, Marcy Crabtree (husband, Darrell) of Parker City; a sister, Rhoda Bly (husband, Frank) of Farmland; two step-daughters, Tina Hines of Muncie and Sherry Bailey (husband, Phil) of Albany; five grandchildren, Matthew Thornburg (Brittany), Nathan Bailey, Dakota Crabtree, Hannah Bailey and Darrah Crabtree; two great grandchildren, Braeden Thornburg and Jayda Williams; mother-in-law, Vera Reiber; an aunt, Betty French; several nephews and nieces; and a beloved canine friend, Gracie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, John; a sister, Martha Oliver; niece, Linda Storms; and step-father, Roy Dobbs.
A service to celebrate Becky's life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the funeral home.
