Reginald (Reggie) Devon Sewell, 69, of Muncie and a lifetime resident of Delaware County passed away suddenly on January 31, 2015. He was born July 18th, 1945 in Portland, and was the son of the late Kelley E. & Virginia A. (Main) Sewell.
A loving husband, grandfather and friend, Reggie graduated from Selma High School in 1963 and served in the United States Army, prior to working and retiring from Muncie''s General Motors New Venture Gear plant in 1993. As a dedicated Christian volunteer, he served in various leadership roles at Old Town Hill Baptist Church including trustee and bus driver as well as a dedicated server in the church''s food pantry. An avid hobbyist, Reggie was an active member of the National Academy of Model Aeronautics, collected Studebaker automobiles and also enjoyed woodworking, refurbishing furniture, antiques, flea markets and national car shows.
Reggie is survived by his loving wife Kathryn Ann (Mercer-Butler) Sewell of Muncie; a step-son Kevin Butler (Angela) of Muncie; two step-daughters, Tammy Kramer (Mark) of Fishers and Christy Smith of Muncie; three brothers, Ronald Sewell (Carol) of Muncie, Loren Sewell (Carol) of Selma, and Tom Sewell (Krista) of Parker City; a sister Beverly Martin (Ben) of Selma; eight grandchildren, Audrey Kramer, Malachi Kramer, Tyton Kramer, Ezekiel Kramer, Jason Butler, Grace Butler, Alexis Smith, and Addisyn Smith; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a great-nephew Hezekiah Sewell.
Funeral Services for Reggie will be held Wednesday, February 4th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Town Hill Baptist Church, 3000 South Burlington, Muncie IN 47302, with Pastor Bruce Reynolds officiating. Burial with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015 at the Old Town Hill Baptist Church and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Old Town Hill Baptist Church, with envelopes provided at the church.
