Richard D. Anacker (Dick), 67, of Eaton, IN died Wednesday, 15 February 2012 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie IN from complications due to cancer. Richard was born on 28 January, 1945 to Donald E. and Mary M. (Monroe) Anacker. On March 6, 1964, Richard married his best friend, partner and eternal companion, Sue E Griffis. From this union came three sons, Kenneth, Charles and Richard Jr.
Richard retired from New Venture Gear (Chevrolet, Muncie) in 2001 after 37 years of services.
Richard was a generous, caring man who loved his family and always put family before himself. His greatest joy was spending time with family, watching NASCAR, the Cincinnati Reds and playing games on the computer with the grandkids. In his early years he was an avid HAM radio operator. In November 2011, Richard got the greatest gift, the joy of meeting his first great grandson, holding and spending time with him.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Sue Anacker, Eaton, IN; his three sons, Kenneth D. (Sharlene) Anacker, Syracuse, UT; Charles W. Anacker, Eaton, IN; and Richard D. (Kim Jones) Anacker Jr., Hartford City, IN.; two brothers, Sigmond Anacker and Joseph Anacker, both of Muncie, IN, five grandchildren; Amanda Clark, Syracuse, UT; Matthew (Ashley) Anacker, Eielson AFB, AK., Cody Jones, Destinee Jones and Richard D. Anacker III, Hartford City, IN, and one great-grandchild, Corbin Michael Anacker of Eielson, AK.
Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lucy Walker and Wanelda Burman, two brothers Robert and Donald Anacker.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at Garden View Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, 10501 North State Rod 3, Muncie, IN., officiated by Pastor Linda McBride. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Partners Ministries.
