Obituary

Truck driver and local business owner, Richard L. Braun, 85, passed away on March 27, 2021 at home with his sons and daughter by his side. Richard was born in Bryant, Indiana on July 24, 1935 to Roman L. Braun and Thelma Hinshaw.

Richard attended Bryant High School and worked at Colonial Bakery from 1964 to 1971. Richard was a truck driver for many years and was the owner of Richard L. Braun Trucking from 1971 until his death. Richard will be remembered by his family as being a hard worker, a principle he instilled in each of his children. Richard enjoyed camping and boating for most of his life, and his family is left with no shortage of entertaining memories and humorous stories of the years they shared with him.

Richard is survived by his three sons, Robert L. Braun (wife, Jennifer), Parker City; Rodney L. Braun (wife, Malia), Parker City; and Ronald L. Braun (wife, Kelli), Parker City; one daughter, Cindy Northcutt, Simpsonville, South Carolina; two sisters, Shirley Liston (husband, Glenn), Manvel, Texas and Nancy Province, Pennington Gap, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Ryan L. Braun (wife, Jessica), Parker City; Richard L. Northcutt (wife, Nicole), Simpsonville, South Carolina; Kendale Thompson (husband, Justin), Parker City; Ross L. Braun (wife, Mackenzi), Parker City; Rhett L. Braun (wife, Kailey), Parker City; Jamie Hannis, Parker City; and Jessie Hannis, Muncie; and 19 great grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother; wife, Jeanetta; daughter, Karen Braun; granddaughter, Tracy Braun; brother, John Hinshaw; and brother-in-law, Charles Province.

Visitation will be held at Garden View Funeral Home in Muncie on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 12 to 2 followed by services at 2 pm. Friend and Minister, Larry Morgan, will officiate.
