MUNCIE - Richard H. Holdcraft, 90, passed away, October 18, 2010 at his residence.
He was born January 6, 1920 in Muncie the son of Ernest and Pearl (Flatter) Holdcraft.
Richard was a graduate of Muncie Central High School.
He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. After his military service, he worked as a tool and die maker for over forty years.
Richard was a member of the Eden United Church of Christ and he currently attended High Street United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #33 in Muncie, loved traveling, camping, and was an avid square dancer.
Survivors include his lady friend, Mary Lou Clevenger, Muncie; two brothers, Kenneth Holdcraft of Dayton, Ohio, and Eugene "Buck" Holdcraft (wife, Betty), Muncie; three sisters, Evelyn Fink, Marjorie Luttrell, and Betty Bailey, all of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (Ullom) Holdcraft in 1978; his parents and a brother, Virgil Holdcraft.
Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Rev. Charlotte Overmyer officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
