Mr. Richard "Max" Moore, age 77 of Griffin, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Brightmoor Hospice, Griffin, Georgia.
Mr. Moore was born in Bedford, Indiana on May 25, 1939. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Forrest Moore and Lula Mae Underwood Moore, his wife of 51 years, Nancy Lou Booher Moore, sister, Harriett Lynn, brother-in-law, Garland Miller. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of First United Methodist Church, Griffin and was retired plant Manager for 1888 Mills. The family would like to thank Brightmoor Hospice for their wonderful and loving care they gave to their father over the past week.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Alan Humble, Hoover, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Rita Moore of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Andrew F. Baker, Evan A. Baker, Will M. Moore, Gracie Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Jake Thompson of Sebring, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Booher of Muncie, IN; sister-in-law, Norma Miller of Muncie, IN; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Following the visitation Mr. Moore will be carried to Muncie, Indiana where a funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Interment will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie, IN. Reverend Dennis Trimble will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brightmoor Hospice, 3247 Newman Road, Griffin, GA 30223.
