Richard Wayne Penrod, 88, of Muncie, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Albany Health Care, following an extended illness. He was born November 4, 1928 in Wells County, Indiana and is the son of the late Samuel H and Ada E. (Ebe) Penrod.
Richard worked for Maxon Corporation for 17 years. He was a member of Eden Church and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara (McGriff) Penrod, whom he married July 28, 1950; two sons, Randy W. Penrod (Sharon) of Muncie, Samuel L. Penrod (Stephanie) of Muncie; two daughters Tamee Baker (Dennis) of Summitville, Rita Kay King of Bluffton; one brother, James R. Penrod (Velma), of Bluffton; one sister, Irene Stanley of Bluffton; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Richard will be held Saturday December 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Behrendt officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Eden Church with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
