Richard R. Smith, 64, of Muncie, IN passed away unexpectedly on Thursday February 14, 2008. He was born on November 28, 1943 in Portland Indiana the son of H. Denzil Smith and Mary (Grossman) who precedes him in death. On January 4, 1964 he married his loving wife of 44 years Linda Smith who survives.
Richard was a member of the moose lodge. He was also a board member of the White River Heritage Antique Association. Along with being a 33 Degree Free Mason, Richard loved fishing, traveling to Florida, International Tractor Antiques and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include his wife Linda Smith of Muncie, three daughters: Tammy (Troy) Hernly of Ft Myers, FL; Tracie (Rob) Jones of Muncie, IN; Terri (Trent) Shaw of Eaton, IN; one brother Tom (Pam) Smith of Muncie, IN; one sister Jill (Fred) Maurer of Muncie, IN; seven grandchildren: Tyler Hernly; Tate Hernly; Cade Jones; Reagan Jones; Taylor Shaw; Corinne Jones; Tyson Shaw along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Pearl and Greta Brown; nephew Travis Maurer.
Service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday February 17, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Rusty Clements will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Saturday February 16, 2008 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the White River Heritage Antique Association.
