Richard F. Richmond, Sr. of Muncie, Indiana passed away at the age of 97 the afternoon of Sunday, September 26, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. He was born in Nappanee, Indiana on February 18, 1924 to the late Dewey and Mildred Richmond.
Richard graduated from high school and continued his work at Borg Warner in Muncie, Indiana as a Supervisor, where he worked for 40 years. He married Ruth Fannin on November 22, 1943, and together they journeyed through this life until her passing on February 14, 2021. Richard proudly served our country in the United States Army during World War II and was recognized with two Purple Hearts.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard F. Richmond, Jr. of Bardstown, Kentucky; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Mildred Richmond; his wife of many years, Ruth (Fannin) Richmond; his daughter, Jody Richmond; and his sister, Margaret Cox.
Visitation and Memorial Services will be held at True Light Baptist Church, 805 North Country Club Road, Muncie at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home and Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
