Rick Bennett, 57, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 10, 2010 at his residence.
He was born May 19, 1952 in Toledo, OH the son of Ray and Hazel (Mock) Bennett, and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1970.
He served in the Army National Guard and moved to Muncie in 1977.
Rick was a successful Sales Manager and was an award winning salesman for Bowling Promotions.
He was a member of the Elks Country Club, Delaware Country Club, and Amvets. Rick was a very generous person to family, friends, and anyone (he would give you the shirt off of his back). He donated generously to the Muncie Mission, along with several other charitable organizations, and enjoyed golfing, his grandchildren, and spending time with his pals.
Surviving are two daughters, Mindy Duckworth (husband, Jason), Simpsonville, SC and Leasa Bennett (companion, David Irving), Muncie; their mother, Karen Durbin, Chattanooga, TN; five grandchildren, Macee McKinley, Daleville, Morgan McKinley, Muncie, David and Sydney Duckworth, Simpsonville, SC, and Jackson Bennett, Muncie; two sisters, Charlene Hill, Maumee, OH, and Carol Donovan (husband, Jerry), Winder, GA; two brothers, Donald Bennett (wife, Sharon), Chandler, AZ, and James Bennett (wife, Diane), Perrysburg, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Darlene Shively.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010 in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel or one hour prior to services on Thursday.
