Robert Fink, 86, of Yorktown, IN died Friday March 14, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Muncie, IN. He was born on April 7, 1921 in Yorktown, IN the son of Ivan and Edna (Hofherr) Fink. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1939. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. On October 12, 1946 at the Oakville Methodist Church near Cowan, IN he married Evelyn G. (Holdcraft) Fink.
Robert was a 50 year member of the Delaware County Masonic Lodge #46. He was full of energy and worked every day to make a difference. He had a very creative mind. He enjoyed coming up with ideas and working on projects to complete. He also enjoyed square dancing and the outdoors. He loved the Yorktown area and enjoyed talking about the history of Yorktown. He retired from Delco Battery after 44 years of service in maintenance millwright.
Surviving relatives include his wife Evelyn Fink of Yorktown, IN; one son, Jerry W. Fink (wife: Kimberly) of Yorktown, IN; one daughter, Cheryl D. Miller of Muncie, IN; one brother, Rodney Fink (wife: Virginia) of Yorktown, IN; three grandchildren, Tony Miller of Indianapolis, IN; Shawn Fink and Kelsey Fink of Yorktown; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 18, 1008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
