Robert Kenneth Flannagan, 82, of Garrett and formerly of Big Turkey Lake, Stroh, IN., died Saturday morning, October 10th, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 28th, 1933 in Meadowview, VA and was the son of the late William Samuel & Jessie Rebecca (Moore) Flannagan.
Robert was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather ,great-grandfather and great-great- grandfather. He enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert enjoyed fishing, reading, woodworking and he built two of his homes himself.
Robert is survived by his three children; Tammie Bonshire (William) of Muncie, Cindy Barnhart (Martin) of Indianapolis, and Michael Flannagan of Fortville; two step daughters, Vicki Kuechenmeister (Chuck) of South Dakota and Cynthia Vaughn of Byrdstown, TN, three sisters Mary Elizabeth Daniels , Mabel Marie Harris, and Margaret Louise Flannagan ; two brothers Dennis Yokley Flannagan (Becky) and Hobert Ray Flannagan (Sammie) ; eleven grandchildren Mark Brady (Amy), Brian Brady (Ann), Carla LaMotte (Chris), Jonathon Vaughn, Jayce Vaughn, Ronald Bonshire, Joseph Bonshire (Allison), Rhiannon Bonshire (Joe Lathem), Cole Miller, Brandon Miller (Jennie), and Crystal Camargo (Antonio); twenty-nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ellen Marie Flannigan, five brothers James Samuel, William Ralf, Charles Grayson, Hugh Lee, and Raymond Stuart Flannagan.
Funeral Services for Robert will be held Thursday, October 15th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
