Muncie - Robert G. Nemyer, 77, passed away Saturday morning, October 9, 2010 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
He was born January 25, 1933 in Muncie the son of Bill and Mary (Parker) Nemyer and graduated from Selma High School in 1951. He then served in the US Navy on the USS Midway and the USS Valley Forge as a third class radar specialist during the Korean War.
Mr. Nemyer was employed at Midwest Towel and Linen Service for thirty-two years prior to his retirement in 1988.
Bob was a member of Parker Masonic Lodge #630 F. & A.M., Selma American Legion #437, and Selma Lions Club. He also attended Christ United Methodist Church in Selma.
Surviving are his son, Kevin Nemyer (wife, Jeannie), Selma; his daughter, Amy J. Ross (husband, Zane), Albany; their mother, Wanda Nemyer, Albany; three grandchildren, Shannon Murrell (husband, Alex), Mark Nemyer (wife, Meghan), and Jake Nemyer (Sheena Peters); three step-grandchildren, Hillary Threet (husband, Todd), Sherry Black (husband, Barry), and Naoma Hicks (husband, Broc); five great-grandchildren, Dane and Gage Baker, Ayla and Clair Murrell, and Kade Nemyer; four step-great-grandchildren, Victoria, Selena, and Dayton Threet, and Aubrey Hicks; and a niece, Debbie (Drury) Bost (husband, Russell).
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sherri Nemyer; a sister, Jane Drury; his wife, Roberta; and a step-son, Dennis Lounsbury.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Rev. Allie Craycraft officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory Washington Street Chapel from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday or one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
