January 3, 1931 – March 28, 2022
Robert Harley Strahan, (better known as Bob), 91 passed away peacefully on March 28, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 3, 1931 to the late W. Forrest and Georgia "Brees" Strahan. He was born and raised in Muncie and graduated from Royerton High School in 1949.
He was a veteran of U.S. Army serving as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War and was awarded many medals including the Purple Heart, He farmed a lot in his younger years and retired from Chevrolet - New Venture Gear in 1993 after 30 years.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He really enjoyed gardening and spent many wonderful days camping, fishing and spending time with his family.
Bob married Jean Ann "Westlake" Strahan on August 28, 1955, They spent fifty-seven years together before she passed away January 9th, 2013.
He is survived by two daughters Jane (Dan) Mills of Bluffton, IN, Vickie Strahan of Summitville, IN, three sons Mike (Tammy) Strahan of Interlachen, FL, Robert (Sherra) Strahan of Kokomo, IN and Forrest (Pamela) Strahan of Muncie, IN. one sister-in-law Jean Strahan, seven grandchildren Trisha Mills, Kevin (Rachel) Mills, Jason Strahan, Jennifer Powell, Stacy Wray Birnell, Katherine Strahan, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister Juanita Scott (Ted), his three brothers William (Bill) (Lavon) Strahan, Eugene (Duke) (Patricia) John Strahan and one grandchild Samantha Strahan.
Calling will be Monday April 4, 2022 at Garden View Funeral Home at 10501 N. St. Rd, 3, Muncie, IN. 47303 from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Service will be at 1:30 Monday April 4, 2022 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Chaplin Abbie Guthrie will be conducting the funeral service. Delaware County Honor Guard will conduct military services at graveside.
