Rodney McClurg, 83, loving father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday 15th January 2023

Rodney was born on May 7th, 1939 to Lacey and Elfreda McClurg. He attended Gaston HS and graduated Class of 1957. He married Carletta Estep, his high school sweetheart, in 1958. He worked at Marhovers until 1961, when he joined the Airforce. After 6 years of service, including a tour in Japan, Rodney worked at Borg Warner until his retirement in 2006. He loved fishing, gardening, singing, and being with the love of his life Carletta, whether it was watching TV at home or working with her at the Children's Church at Rejoice Ministries.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carletta McClurg. His life is celebrated by his daughter Peggy and Chris (husband), Son Charlie and Anna (wife), and his daughter Paula and Scott (significant other). Also his grandson Dustin and Kassandra (wife), grandson Rodney and Stephanie (fiancé), his grandson Stuart, his sister Judy and Bob (Husband), his brother Edgar and Lois (wife), and his cousin Larry.

The family would like to Thank, Morrison Woods Nursing Home and staff for the excellent care they gave to Rodney over the last couple years.

God took all his pain away
when he took him home with him today.
although its hard to let him go
hes in a much better place I know
tears of grief fall from every eye,
but nobody has to ask God why.
He was a very special man, in every way,
We will miss him each and everyday.
not lost to memory, nor to love
but gone to our fathers house above.

but always remember we love you still.

Calling will be on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. St. Rd. 3, Muncie, IN. 47303 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Service will be at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Bob Fair officiating. Burial will follow at Gardes Of Memory Cemetery. Military grave side rites will be conducted by Delaware County Honor Guard.
