Roger D. "PeeWee" Rutter, 59, of Muncie, IN died 3:00 p.m. Friday April 13, 2007 at St. John''s Hospital in Anderson, IN. He was born on September 13, 1947 in Benhams, Virginia the son of Lonnie and Ruth (Rowland) Rutter.
Roger graduated from Marion High School in 1966. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the Indiana Gas Company / Vectren Energy for 36 years.
He enjoyed life to its fullest. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting and playing the harmonica. He was a member of the American Legion, the United Steel Workers of America, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was a loving father to one son, Roger J. Rutter of Eden, UT and one daughter, Heather J. Rollins (Doug) of Muncie, IN. He was a special grandfather to three grandchildren, Destiny Rollins, Storm Rollins, and Luke Rollins. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel Rutter (wife: Sheila) of Marion, IN and Jack Rutter (wife: Doris) of Camden, TN.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, one brother, Lonnie Rutter, Jr.; two sisters, Brenda Lee and Phyllis Jean.
Services will be 4:00 p.m. Monday April 16, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Coleman Barlow will officiate the service. The Delaware County Honor Guard will provide military rites. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.. Memorial contributions can be made to the Little Red Door Cancer Services. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
