Roma Caroline Maggard, 86 of Muncie, died late Tuesday evening at Liberty Village Nursing Home. She was born June 29th, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Clarence, Sr. & Ruby (Haggard) Burgess.
Roma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was a loving woman who was always serving as a volunteer. Roma enjoyed camping and being with her family. She retired from Ball Corporation in 1992 after 39 years of dedicated service. She was a member of True Light Baptist Church. Roma was the matriach of the family she loved so much.
Roma is survived by her son William "Bill" Joseph Maggard (Sheila) of Muncie; a brother Clarence Burgess, Jr. (Helen) of Muncie; a sister Martha Lehman (Kippy) of Muncie; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; two son-in-law''s John Coahran and Greg Dillard both of Muncie; two sister-in-law''s Patricia Darling of Muncie and Aline Darling of Connersville; several niece and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Frank M. Darling; two daughters Sally A. Coahran and Linda Dillard, two son''s David L. Darling and Frank Michael Darling; two brothers Charles Burgess and Jack Holt ; two sisters Karen Smith and Mae Lehman.
Funeral Services for Roma will be held Saturday, February 6th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.
