Roma Jean McCoy, 79, of Anderson, IN, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. John''s Health System in Anderson. She was born on September 4, 1930 in St. Edwards, Nebraska, to the late William E. and Ollie E. (Snavely) Webb. Roma graduated from Muncie Central. On September 30, 1950 she married Robert E. McCoy in Muncie.
Roma had a passion for her family. She never met a stranger. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the center of her family, everyone''s biggest fan and supporter. She was an educator of life, a generous heart, and encourager. She was an incredible role model. She enjoyed cooking and baking, swimming, and traveling. She loved her Lord and attended Wesley Free Methodist Church in Anderson. She worked for Marsh Supermarkets corporate offices as a supply purchaser and administrative assistant for 35 years, retiring in 1997.
Surviving relatives include her three loving daughters: Lana Dial (husband, Frank) of Anderson; Jana Casey (husband, Darrell) of Peoria, IL; and Terri Spottsville (husband, Fred) of Anderson; sister Virginia Miley of Chesterfield; sister-in-law Janie Turner (husband, Jim) of Yorktown; 8 grandchildren: Jennifer Beer (husband, Jeffrey); Derek Dial (fianc, Jennifer Rice); Jason Moore (wife, Lesia); Justin Moore; Rodney Spottsville (wife, Loretta); Raymon Spottsville (wife, Tammy); Lee Casey (wife, Angel); and Rachel Casey; 11 great-grandchildren: Caleb Beer; Caitlin Beer; Kenzie Moore; Kole Moore; Brianna Spottsville; Jasmine Spottsville; Terrell Spottsville; Trenton Spottsville; Brooklyn Casey; Aden Casey; and Brianna Casey; many nieces and nephews; and many, many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, Robert E. McCoy; 2 sisters: Lucille Glore and Lois Colsten; 3 brothers: William Webb, Cecil Webb, and Donald Webb; and grandson Zachery Johnson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Mark Murphy will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
