IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosabelle
Cassel
July 1, 1928 – January 31, 2021
Rosabelle Cassel, 92, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center in Parker City, Indiana. Rosie was the fourth of nine children born to the late George R. and Mamie L. Cassel on July 1, 1928.
At the age of 6, Rosie was separated from her family to battle polio at the Shriner's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Through leg braces, crutches, and wheelchairs, Rosie never complained, and she attacked her disease with grace. Rosie graduated from Stoney Creek High School in 1947, was a lifelong member of Stoney Creek Home Ec Club, where she was Secretary/Treasurer for many years, and, while able, attended Union Chapel Congregational Christian Church.
Rosie is survived by sisters, Jacqueline Helm and Shirley Shaffer; brother, Robert Cassel; and twelve nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George R. and Mamie L. Cassel; sisters, Arlene Swingley McCarty, Delores Morris, and Betty Chalfant; brothers, Harold Cassel and Donald Cassel; and nephew, Paul Swingley.
Gratitude is extended to the wonderful staff at Parker Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of Rosie for the last almost seven years.
