Roy Walter Baugh

Roy was the oldest son of Taylor and Marie Baugh of Mt. Zion, Kentucky. He is survived by a sister, Maxine Jones of Scottsdale, AZ, a brother Ron Baugh and Wife Virginia of Frankfort, Kentucky, a sister and brother-in-law preceded Roy in death, Opal and Ike Lehew of Covington, KY.
His Wife of 51 years, Virginia Lee Baugh also preceded Roy in death. Surviving is their son, Stephen Roy Baugh and grandsons Taylor Austin and Stephen Levi Baugh of Muncie, Indiana. Cousin''s nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews will mourn Roy''s passing.
Roy was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1955 aboard the USS Gunston Hall. Following his military service Roy and June built their first home in Muncie''s west end neighborhood in 1962 and never moved. Roy retired after 56 years of service from Borg Warner, plant 3. He was a very active member of the UAW Local #287. Roy developed many close relationships while at Borg Warner, and became his extended family. Together he and June raised a son, went to work every day, helped their neighbors and were helped by their neighbors. Together they lived their dreams. Roy and June were members of Creekwood Baptist Church; currently Roy attended Old Town Hill Baptist Church.
When an extended illness struck June, Roy dedicated his complete attention to her care. "June-Bug" was the love of his life and Roy mourned her passing every day.
Today his family celebrates the knowledge that God has once again joined Roy and "June-Bug" in their new home.
Funeral services for Roy will be held on Thursday Nov 1, 2012. Visitation will be from 11-12:45 with services at 1pm in the Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Bruce Reynolds officiating. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Memory Mausoleum immediately following services. Military Honors will be conducted by the Delaware County Honor Guard and the United States Navy.
