Ruby E. Chasteen, 88, died Sunday morning, November 1, 2009 at The Waters of Yorktown, following an extended illness.
She was born October 17, 1921 in Muncie, the daughter of Luther and Myrtle (McKinley) Welles.
Ruby was a member of Avondale United Methodist Church.
She was a Practical Nurse and had worked for Dr. William Koss for nine years and Dr. Stewart Gray for seventeen years.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Gragg, (husband-Golden), Muncie and Elizabeth Weist, (husband-David), Perrysburg, Ohio; four grandsons; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; her son, Tom; and two brothers.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Rd. Muncie, IN 47304 with Pastor W. Frank Jones Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
