Muncie - Ruby M. Daugherty, 84, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 9, 2012, at Golden Living Center. She was born on July 13, 1927 in Berea, KY the daughter of Garfield and Talitha (Coyle) Gabbard. She graduated from Rockcastle County High School, Mt Vernon, KY, and moved to Muncie in 1945. Mrs. Daugherty was employed at Ball Memorial Hospital and managed the Muncie Club. Surviving are her husband, Wesley; a brother, James Gabbard (wife, Mary), Cincinnati, OH; eleven nieces; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ralph, Jay, Elmer, and Russell Gabbard; and a sister, Bernice Eden. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2012, in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 1:00 p.m. on Monday until service time on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
