Ruby K. Kennedy, 80, of Muncie, IN died Thursday January 20, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Muncie, IN. She was born on November 4, 1930 in Muncie, IN the daughter of Joseph R. and Elizabeth (Jackson) Harris.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a charter member of the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene. She taught Sunday school classes and enjoyed playing the piano at her church and other churches in the area. She was a Cub Scout den mother, a member of Women in Accounting, and a member of Preceptor Beta Nu Sorority. She also enjoyed animals, especially dogs.
Surviving relatives include one son and one daughter, Joe A. Kennedy (wife: Pamela) of Orlando, FL; Melodee Motsenbocker of Muncie, IN; two YaYa sisters, Beulah Anderson and Ivonne Grubbs both of Muncie, IN; one brother-in-law, Frank Garton of Bourbonnias, IL; four grandchildren, Mandee Motsenbocker of Muncie, IN; Evin and Murphy Kennedy both of Orlando, FL; and Morgan Motsenbocker of Muncie, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one YaYa sister, Irene Garton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 22, 2011 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Reverend Colby Smith will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Ruby Kennedy Memorial Fund. Envelopes for the fund will be available at the funeral home.
