Russell Lowell Alexander, 94, passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 in his home, surrounded by family.
The son of Blanch and Lillie (Dill) Alexander, he was born June 27, 1915 in Randolph County. A 1934 graduate of Royerton High School, he married Mary Ellen Burt on November 25, 1939 in the home of Mary's parents.
Lowell was a lifetime farmer and was a member of the Eden Church.
Surviving are his children, Gary (wife, Dr. Julie) Alexander, rural Eaton, Mary Ann (husband, Kin) Kinlaw, Atlanta, GA, and Dan (wife, Cathy) Alexander, rural Muncie; fourteen grandchildren, Scott (wife, Valerie) Alexander, Stephanie (husband, Jeff) Welch, Ben Alexander, Megan Alexander, Justin (wife, Mikelle) Brady, Alison (husband, Tobi) Rohwer, Kelly (husband, John) Blake, Jeff Kinlaw, Jack Alexander, Cassie Alexander, Chris Alexander, Brad Alexander, Suzanne Alexander and Desiree (husband, Michael) Freyburger; fifteen great-grandchildren, as well as a special thanks to, Grandpa's Angels.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ellen, in 2004; a son, Thomas, in 1987; four brothers, George, Robert, Lawrence, and Cecil; and a sister, Celia Alexander.
A Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2009 in the Eden Church 11205 N. St. Rd 3. Muncie, with Dr. Max Hayden & Rev. Mark Hayden presiding.
Private burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
Friends may call from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Eden Church or Ball Memorial Hospice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S. Hartford St., Eaton.
