Russell Davis Jr., 86, of Muncie, passed away on March 24, 2023 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after an extended illness. He was born in Yamacraw, Kentucky on December 20th, 1936 to Opal and Russel Davis Sr.

He proudly served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He was employed at Marsh Greenhouse, Davis Brothers Greenhouse, Meadow Gold Dairy, and Mejier in Muncie. He enjoyed watching Westerns movies and watching the Indiana Pacers.

He is survived by two daughters, Lillian Ululani Asuncion (Carl) and Rusty Ann Lanikai Salcedo (Leo), both of Hawaii; three step daughters, Sandy Kilgore (Mike), Marilyn Beeson (Ivan), and Lois Phelps (Jim) all of Muncie; and many grand children, great grand children, and great great grand children, Brothers Larry Davis (Peggy) and Tom Davis (Sue) and sister Betty Jo Sills (Emmett);  several nieces and nephews; and a very special caregiver Rhonda Malloy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years, Viola Davis; his brother Kenny Davis (Bertha); his sisters Wilma Fisher (William), Mary Rhodes, and Pat Zachary; and two daughters, Marion Pualani Martinez and Opal Leilani Asuncion (Sean).

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM with a visitation prior from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
