Ruth Ann Metcalf, 89, passed away on Sunday January 15, 2023 at her residence in Shelbyville, IN. She was surrounded by her family. She was born on July 20, 1933 in Rockford, OH. She was the daughter of the late David Edward and Clessie Irene "Bowers" Reed.

She married Eugene Metcalf on May 5, 1951 and they started their family. She worked at Delco Remy as a factory worker for many years retiring in 1987.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also liked crocheting, working jigsaw puzzles and playing Skip-bo card game.

She is survived by 4 daughters: Sandra Lee (Jack), Sharon Jackson, Shirley Keller (Tim) and Janice Hassett (Ron).17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years: Eugene Metcalf, son: Richard Metcalf, grandson: Randy Metcalf, One sister and 2 brothers
Calling will be on Friday January 20, 2023 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. St. Rd. 3, Muncie, IN. 47303 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Service will be at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Tracy Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens Of Memory Cemetery.
