Ruth D. Whiteman, age 89, of Dunkirk, passed away Wednesday, February 20th, 2008 at home.
Ruth was born in Montpelier, IN on August 6, 1918, the daughter of the late Ollie P. and Bessie Myrtle (Rains) Garrett. She married Orange Ray Whiteman, who is deceased. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Ruth was a graduate of Pennville High School. She was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ and was a part of the Womens Fellowship Club.
Mrs. Whiteman enjoyed her family, and is survived by two daughters, Diana Reed (fiance-Herman Brooks) of Muncie, and Joyce Epperson (husband-Larry) of Albany; two sons, Jerry Whiteman (wife-Barbara) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jim Whiteman (wife-Doris) of Bixby, OK; son-in-law, Dub Miskinis of Dunkirk; two sisters, Merlyn Dubach (husband-Bob) of Portland, Helen Case (husband-Raymond) of Albany, IN; a brother, Don Garrett of West Virginia; nine grandchildren, Debbie Adams, Shelly Miskinis, Dee Purcell, Nick Reed, Susan Macy, Wendy Whiteman, Kari Whittington, Krista Epperson, Kimberly Clanin; and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at MJS Mortuaries - Dunkirk Chapel, Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ray Scribner and Pastor Randy Davis officiating.
Friends are invited to call Sunday 2 - 6 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries - Dunkirk Chapel.
Burial will be in Gardens of Memory , Muncie.
