Sammie Joan Butler-Amick, 88 of Muncie, died Tuesday evening October 2, 2018 at Parker Health Care in Parker City. She was born June 20, 1930 in Cambridge City and was the daughter of the late Ralph & Mary Elizabeth (Woodward) Cummins

Sammie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She worked many years as an administrative assistant for the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Delaware County Government. Sammie volunteered for many years at Ball Memorial Hospital.

Sammie is survived by her four children Dan Butler (Sherry) of Noblesville, Tom Butler (Candy) of Muncie, Sue Miller (David) of Parker City and Marcia Ludington (Fred) of Parker City; eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a sister Linda Riggin of Muncie; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Jack Butler in 1963 and her second husband Fred Amick in 1985; twin sons Rick Butler in 2007 and Rodney Butler in 2006; sisters Sara Jane Hollowood and Sue Ann Cummins also preceded her in death.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Parker Health and Rehabilitation for the care of Sammie. The family requests in lieu of flowers take the opportunity to praise Sammie by "Shaking the love around" with family and friends and feed and enjoy the birds.
