Sandra J. Carey, 80, of Muncie, passed away at 11:04 PM on January 10, 2026, at her home in Muncie. She was born in Muncie, Indiana, on August, 29, 1945, to Clyde L. and Rose L. (Hickey) Williamson. On November 16, 1962, she married Leo R. Carey, who preceded.
Sandra had worked as a bank courier for Centaur Bank Services and volunteered at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women's Auxiliary, and American Legion Post #19.
Sandra enjoyed reading, shopping, going on casino trips, and playing Sudoku, Solitaire, and Mahjong on her tablet. She loved writing cards to family on their birthdays and around the holidays. She also loved taking trips to Maryland and out West with her husband on their Honda Goldwing. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and being a caretaker for her late brother, Mike and sister, Sheila.
She is survived by her children, Angel J. (Greg) Brown of Parker City and Scott L. (Echoe) Carey of Muncie; grandchildren, Heather D. Silvers, Ryan L. (Lela) Silvers, Zac (Kayann) Trissel, Kristina M. Carey, Jennifer L. Carey, Cody S. Carey, Abigail J. (Nathan) Coffey, Holly C.(Gabriel Howell) Silvers, and Sidney R. Howard; great-grandchildren, Luke, Daxtan, Zoei, Halle, Riley, and Miller; special niece, Tameka D. Cope, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde L. Williamson and Rose L. (Hickey) Coffman; husband, Leo R. Carey; brother, Ronald M. Delp, sister Sheila K. Cope, and brother, Michael L. Coffman.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 IN-3, Muncie, Indiana 47303.
A service celebrating Sandra's life will follow at 1:30 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Nick Simos officiating.
Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Muncie at a later date.
