Sandra "Sandy" L. Parker, 66, passed away Monday afternoon, March 8, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born on May 25, 1943 in Muncie, the daughter of, Charles and Betty (Clements) Gilmer.
Sandy married the love of her life, Thomas A. Parker in 1967 in Yorktown. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Parker had been a homemaker and later worked as a Nurses Aid for the Hickory Creek Health Care Center in Gaston for three years prior to her retirement in 1993.
She loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed activities with them.
Survivors include one son, Thomas R. Parker, Muncie; one brother, Charles Gilmer, Muncie; one sister, Patricia Snodgrass, Muncie; one uncle, Richard Clements (wife, Martha), Muncie; several nieces and nephews and pets.
Besides her husband she is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Tommy and Ricky Gilmer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor James O. McCowan officiating.
Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
