Sara L. Mattucci, 84, passed away Monday evening, March 31, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born August 15, 1923 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jeanne (Marcelli) Taddeo and John Taddeo. Sara grew up in Jeanette, Pennsylvania and moved to the Muncie area in 1958. She married Peter V. Mattucci in 1958. Sara retired from K-Mart Corporation in 1984. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was well known at the Marion UAW #977. Sara was a 48 year survivor of breast cancer. Survivors include her husband, Peter V. Mattucci, Muncie; one son, Peter J. Mattucci, (wife-Barbara), Gaston; one step-son, Franklin Mattucci, Florida; one sister, Martha CasaGrande, Jeanette, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Mary Taddeo, Jeanette, Pennsylvania; a special sister-in-law and caregiver, Eva Stough, Anderson; one granddaughter, Victoria Mattucci and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David I. Taddeo and one sister, Berniece Taddeo. Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor John Malzahn officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday or after 10:30 a.m. Friday.
