Sarah E. Brothers, 87, of Muncie, IN died Sunday May 22, 2011 at Parker Healthcare in Parker City, IN. She was born on November 8, 1923 the daughter of Clyde J. and Erie L. (Ross) Huffman. On April 26, 1947 she married Orion E. Brothers who preceded her in death.
Sarah was a member of the Cowan Christian Church. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and baking. She was also a member of the Fez Mates at Murpah Shrine Club and the Daughters of Nile in Muncie and Ft. Wayne, IN.
Surviving relatives include her two sons, Michael D. Brothers (wife: Peggy) of Muncie, IN; James R. Brothers of Anderson, IN; sisters, Martha Harris, Lucille McAllister, Mildred Lyons all of Muncie, IN; Dorothy Baldwin of Yorktown, IN; two grandchildren, Tonya Brothers-Bridge (husband: Dave Bridge) of Ferdinand, IN; Bruce W. Brothers (wife: Lisa) of Muncie, IN; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda Brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and five brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Charles Craig will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
