Sarah I. Goebel was born in West Terre Haute, Indiana, to parents Vernon and Jessie (Hileman) Goss. She passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, at Muncie Estates in Muncie, Indiana.
A devoted member of Morningside United Methodist Church since 1955, Sarah's faith was the foundation of her life. She found great joy in gardening, tending to her flowers and plants with care. She was also a talented and loving quilter, creating hand-stitched quilts for all of her family members and baby afghans to celebrate the arrival of new generations.
Sarah is survived by her sons, Robert Gregory Goebel (wife, Sue), Albert Alan Goebel (wife, Susan), and Darrell Goebel; daughter, Pamela Goebel (Dianne); grandchildren, Rob Goebel (Tonya), Tim Goebel (Staci), Melissa Jellison, Nancy Shreve (Brett), Matthew Goebel (Ann), Travis Goebel (Sam), Amanda Salmon (Jon), Collin Goebel (Courtney), and Alexis Kirkman; and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Robert Goebel; parents, Vernon and Jessie Goss; sisters, Gert Montz, Ester Harris, and Ruth Pearman; and brothers, Paul Goss, Harry Goss, John Goss, Emerson Goss, and Charles Goss.
Family and friends may call at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N St. Rd. 3, Muncie IN 47303, on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Garden View Funeral Home; online condolences can be made at www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com.
Sarah's kindness, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in every stitch of her beautiful quilts and in the gardens she nurtured.
