Sharon Sue Parvis, 71, of Yorktown, died early Sunday morning, April 7th, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born August 29th, 1941 in Muncie, IN., and was the daughter of the late Irvine & Thelma Sue (Ratliff) Orr.
Sharon was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great friend to all that knew her. She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, movies, and traveling. She retired in 2003 from JCPenny''s in retail jewelry sales. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Selma.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Paul Leroy Parvis of Yorktown; four children, Tammy Rhoades (Randy Wisehart) of Richmond, John Rhoades (Carole) of Yorktown, Randy Rhoades of Long Beach, CA., and Eric Parvis of Royerton; one brother Richard Orr, of Hartford City; brother-in-law, Jerry Hunnicutt of Muncie; close friend Jill Bartle of Selma; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Laughlin of Chicago, IL, Brittany Rhoades of Indianapolis, Bryce Rhoades of Yorktown, Brennan Rhoades of Yorktown, Savannah Rhoades of Phoenix, AZ., Wyatt Rhoades of Phoenix, AZ., Eric Parvis of Royerton, and Kathryn Parvis of Royerton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Judy Hunnicutt, and her mother-in-law Mary Parvis.
Funeral Services for Sharon will be held Friday, April 12th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 9805 East Jackson, Selma, IN., with Pastor Dennis Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to I WIN (Indiana Women In Need) or the American Breast Cancer Association, with envelopes provided at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
