ALBANY - Sheila K. Adams, 53, Albany, went home to be with her Lord Saturday night at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Born in Muncie on October 19, 1957, she was raised in Albany and graduated from Delta High School in 1975.
Sheila was working as the assistant manager at the Attic Window on Broadway in Muncie until becoming ill. She was a wonderful homemaker and had worked in food service for several years including at locations within the Delaware Community School Corporation. Sheila was an active member of Albany Christian Church where she was a part of the Noodle Ladies group and several committees including the fellowship committee. For the past several years she worked in ticket sales at the annual Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Show in Portland. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, serving her church, and supporting her family.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-three years, James L. "Jimmy" Adams, Jr.; her children, Selena Marie Helvey (husband, Bradley), Carmel, and Justin Tyler Adams (wife, Nichole), Muncie; her mother, Betty Hollowell, Albany; two brothers, Wayne Hollowell (wife, Bonnie), Philadelphia, PA, and David Hollowell (wife, Teri), Mesa, AZ; a sister, Marilyn Honn, Albany; five grandchildren, Merek, Ava, and Sophia Helvey; also, Kayden and Jaxon Adams. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert V. Hollowell.
Services are 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Albany Christian Church, 110 Cedar St., Albany, with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
