Shelby Jean Anderson of Gaston, Indiana passed away at the age of 84 at her sister's residence in Gaston early Wednesday, October 27, 2021. She was born in Newport, Tennessee on November 17, 1936 to the late Arnold and Zella Arlie (Dunn) Teague.

Shelby completed high school and some graduate work, then began as a dental assistant for over 30 years. She retired after working for Caldwell Dentistry in Upland, Indiana in 1995. She married George D. Anderson in Waycross, Georgia on March 5, 1960, and she will forever be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She attended Gaston United Methodist Church.

Shelby is survived by her husband of 61 years, George D. Anderson of Gaston; one daughter, Cara Higginbotham (Manson "Scott") of Glade Valley, North Carolina; one sister, Shirley Glaze of Gaston; and many nieces and nephews.

Shelby was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Zella Arlie (Dunn) Teague and two brothers, Roscoe Teague and Cleatus Teague.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Gaston United Methodist Church, 105 North Main Street, Gaston, Indiana 47342.
