Sherry Lynn Lance, 54, of Yorktown, died Monday afternoon, November 12th, 2012 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, following an extended courageous 14 year battle with breast cancer. She was born January 31st, 1958 in Muncie, IN. and is the daughter of Howard Tolbert and the late Crystal May (Robison) Lance.
Sherry bowled for many years in the Hi-Rollers Woman''s League. She was an avid Indiana Pacers Fan, and was a Blue & Gold Elite Season Ticket Holder for several years. Sherry loved Elvis Presley and had owned most of all his movies and music. She enjoyed reading People''s Magazine about the Star''s. Sherry had a great love for horses. She also loved to attend concerts, especially the Statler Brothers. Sherry was an avid domino''s player as well.
She is survived by her father Howard Tolbert Lance of Yorktown; two sisters, Deborah A. Miller of Yorktown, and Barbara J. Mattucci (Peter J.) of Gaston; a nephew M. Christopher Miller of Yorktown, two nieces, Shawna M. Netser of Columbus, IN., and Victoria R. Mattucci, of Gaston; great- niece Kaitlyn Hope Netser, a great-nephew Jackson Miles Netser both of Columbus, IN.
Funeral Services for Sherry will be held Friday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Daryl Hamlyn officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to the The Little Red Door Cancer Society, with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
