Sigal Lee "Bud" Gable, 79, of Parker City, IN slipped into eternal rest Monday evening September 1, 2008 at the Parker Health and Rehab. Center. Bud was born the son of Ralph E. and Ella (Earley) Gable on August 30, 1029 in Parker City where he lived out his life. On July 3, 1952 Bud married a young strong-willed southern belle from Muncie, Viola Moody, and they were wed in Viola''s hometown in Alabama. Viola precedes him in death.
Those that knew Bud knew a good and gentle natured man who was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and a good neighbor.
Bud, a graduate of Parker City High School (Parker Panther), was an avid basketball player during his school years. Turning his speed on the court to speed on the track, he enjoyed stockcar racing. Bud was employed for more than 30 years and retired from Delco Battery of Muncie. In his retirement years, he and wife Viola developed quite a circle of friends while bowling weekly in Muncie. During WWII, Bud served his country as part of the National Guard and in more recent years, he served his community as a volunteer during community functions in association with his amateur radio group. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving relatives include a son; Danny Lee Gable (wife Setarch), two grand children, David lee and Lauren Nicole Gable living Dallas, TX, one brother Max Gable (wife Wanda) of Muncie, and several nieces and nephews
Preceded him in death is his wife, parents, one brother and one sister.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 6, 2008 at the Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. State Road 3 Muncie. Pastor Milton Wilson will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery Muncie. Visitation will be Saturday September 6, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Foundation for Parkinson''s Research; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
