Muncie:
Steve David Pence, 50, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Steve was born on January 8, 1961 in Bedford, England to David R. and Patricia F. (Payne) Pence. Steve is a 1979 graduate of Delta High School. He married his love Teresa M. Niec on September 11, 1993 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Muncie.
Steve was a tremendously loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Steve was employed with Marsh Supermarkets for 23 years as Department Manager of the Bakery, retiring in 1999. Following Marsh, Steve joined New Venture Gear and worked for five years before joining GM Truck in Fort Wayne for six years. Steve was a loving and caring man who was everyone''s best friend. He loved to camp, read, golf, watch and play softball and baseball, build birdhouses for family members, have parties, and joke with family and friends.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Teresa of 17 years; their children: Tabatha Pence of Fishers; Tiffanie Pence of Muncie; and Anthony Pence of Muncie; father David Pence (wife, Jill) of Muncie; mother Pat Norridge (husband, John) of Muncie; 3 brothers: Jeffrey Pence (wife, Kristi) of Muncie; Toby Pence (wife, Lori) of Muncie; and Aaron Pence (wife, Natalie) of Noblesville; step-brother Mark Rawlinson (wife, Jamie) of Venice, FL; step-sister Lisa Renbarger (husband, Allen) of Muncie; aunt Pat Rarick of Muncie; and nieces and nephews: John and Sam Miller; Adam and Alex Pence; Andrew, Zachary, and Abby Pence; Delaney Pence; Jillian and Ian Renbarger; and Macyn, Michael, and Liz Rawlinson.
Steve was preceded in death by his uncle Dick Rarick; father-in-law Edmund Niec; and niece Emma Rawlinson.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 25, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Muncie, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Andrew Dudzinski officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or St. Mary Catholic Church.
