Steven Joseph Roach, 43, of Muncie, died Monday afternoon, December 31st, 2012 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born, March 7th, 1969 in Hartford City, IN and is the son of Kenneth W.Roach, and the late Ellen May Roach (Schwartzkopf).

Steven was a loving and caring individual who always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed being outdoors, riding four wheelers and scooters. He enjoyed going to amusement parks and riding rides. He had a great love for trains and enjoyed listening to gospel music especially the Gaither''s.

Steven is survived by his father Kenneth W. Roach of Muncie; grandmother Fountain Schwartzkopf of Hartford City; four uncles, Frank Schwartzkopf (Fran) of Maryland, Stephen M. Roach (Diana) of Muncie, Paul Roach (Brenda) of Albany, and Raymond Roach (Tammy) of Hartford City; six aunts, Linda Barth (Larry) of Muncie, Lorie Atkins (Doug) of Hartford City, Sandra Davis (Rick) of Dunkirk, Karan Bost of Dunkirk, Dorothy Kemp (John) of Hartford City, and Deana Kemble of Gaston; a nephew James Kenneth Roach, and a niece Megan Lynn Roach, several cousins also survive .

In addition to his mother Ellen May Roach, he was preceded in death by a brother James Allen Roach, grandparents Wayne E. and Naomi L. Alfrey, his paternal grandfather Raymond Roach, maternal grandfather Hurless Schwartzkopf, cousin Dionne Stevens, aunt Joyce Leversque, and an uncle Roger Roach.

Funeral Services for Steven will be held Friday, January 4th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Denny officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
