SuLynn Marie Thornton, 22, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born November 2, 1985 in Muncie, the daughter of Mark A. Thornton and Loretta (Herbert) Thornton. SuLynn was a 2004 graduate of Muncie Southside High School. She had attended Ivy Tech, enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program.
She was a member of Southside Church of the Nazarene and the Young Adults Youth Group. She also worked with pre-school Sunday School at church.
Miss Thornton is survived by her parents, Mark A. Thornton, (wife-April) and Lori Thornton; three brothers, Mark Andrew Thornton II, Conner Andrew Thornton and Paul Loebe; a sister, Abby Grinstead; maternal grandparents, Barbara Herbert and Fred Herbert, (wife-Janet); paternal grandparents, Claudia Johnson, (husband-Dwight Sr.) and Quenton Thornton Jr.; great grandmother, Rose Grice; great grandfather, Quenton Thornton Sr.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Aaron Thornton.
Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Southside Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Todd Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until service time Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Southside Church of the Nazarene.
