Susan Jane Lee, 69, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on September 24, 2025.

Born and raised in Muncie, she built her life around family, laughter, loyalty and love. A warm and devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, she spent her days caring for others as a longtime health care worker and, most recently, as an employee of the Youth Opportunity Center.

She had a knack for turning ordinary days into small celebrations, especially with her grandchildren. She loved a good book, a sunny beach vacation, and cheering for her favorite teams: the Chicago Bears, Notre Dame, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and anything with an engine fast enough to call it auto racing!! Summers at her home were legendary for pool parties and sunflowers, the perfect backdrop for family and friends to gather and make memories.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John ( in April 2023), and together they were inseparable… in the grandstands at a race, cheering from the crowd at a blues concert, or simply sitting on a beach together. She was also preceded by her mother (Jane), and brothers (Mike and Jeff).

She is survived by her daughter Beth Raines (husband Josh, of Muncie) and two grandchildren (Layne and Aaralynn Raines); her son, Dennis Bruner (of Muncie); her sister Jo Carver (of Muncie); and many in-laws, cousins, and family friends… all of whom will carry on her legacy of family, loyalty, and love with them.

A celebration of life will be held at Sulphur Springs Community Building at Allen Park (204 Mulberry Street, Sulphur Springs, IN), on October 4, 2025, from 1-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, feel free to bring a memory or a photo to share. That is what Susan would have loved the most.
