Teresa Louise Young, 72, of Muncie, died Tuesday evening, October 17, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born October 27, 1944 in Muncie and was the daughter of the late Mike & Mary (Bickel) Herniak.
Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and setting with her pet dog Midget. She enjoyed cooking and collecting anything red, white and blue. She attended Fellowship Baptist Church.
Teresa is survived by her children, Troy Inskeep of Muncie, Melissa York of Muncie, and Jennifer Cooper of Muncie; ten grandchildren Kristopher Watterson, Danni Collins, Karissa Strauch, Kyle Inskeep, Scotty York, Tyler Watterson, Tayler Cooper, Kelsey Gaskins, Rebekka Barton, and Dalton Cooper; eight great-grandchildren; a sister Kay Morehouse (Bob) of Muncie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years Thomas Young; a son Vernon Joe Watterson and several siblings.
Funeral Services for Teresa will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Garden View Funeral Home with Rev. Will Grinstead officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Kathy Robbins and the staff of IU Hospice for the care and support given to Teresa.
