Terry Allen Vance, 65 of Muncie, died unexpectedly early Thursday morning, July 13, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born June 26, 1952 in Muncie and is the son of Mahlon Benton Vance and the late Jacquelyn Sue (Ailes) Vance.
Terry was a 1971 graduate of Muncie Central High School. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1971-1974. He retired from General Motors (New Venture Gear) after 30 years of service. He enjoyed motorcycles, assembling models, music, concerts, monster/SciFi movies, traveling and spending time with the family.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Joyce Eileen (Bainter) Vance of Muncie; three sons Kevin Vance of Muncie, Jeremy Vance (Michelle) of Anaheim, CA, Joshua Vance (Reanna Miller) of Muncie; his father Mahlon Benton Vance of Muncie; four grandchildren Alex Vance of Muncie, Hannah Vance of Freedom, PA, JD and Zachary Vance both of Anaheim, CA; a brother Brian Vance (Brenda) of Troy, MO; two aunts Joan Foreman of Muncie and Sandy Ailes of Gaston; two nieces and four nephews, several cousins.
Funeral Services for Terry will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Reverend Julia Corbett-Hemeyer officiating. Burial with military honors being conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Kidney Foundation or Second Harvest Food Bank with envelopes provided at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to CIC Nursing Staff at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, the nurses and all the staff at WVM Cooper Vista Rehab unit and the staff of Frenius Medical Care for all their care and comfort.
