Thelma Jean Blumenhorst, 84, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Albany Health Care & Rehab Center. She was born on September 6, 1925 in Muncie to the late Robert and Frances E. (Mastin) Logan. On July 11, 1957 Thelma married her love, LeRoy Blumenhorst, in Dunkirk.
Thelma was employed with Armstrong Corp. for 10 years, Indiana Glass for 2 years, and Kitco Rubber for 20 years as an inspector of glass and rubber before retiring in 1987. Thelma was a member of Northside Assembly of God in Muncie. She loved fishing, camping, and bowling. Thelma also enjoyed spending time with her 3 granddaughters and her great-grandson.
Thelma is survived by her husband, LeRoy Blumenhorst, of nearly 53 years; their son Terry W. Blumenhorst (wife, Renee) of Dunkirk; sister Dorothy Gray (husband, Elden) of Boise, ID; 3 granddaughters: Megan Sollars (husband, Jake); LeeAnn Blumenhorst (fianc Edwin Clott); and Lexi Blumenhorst; great-grandson Rylee Sollars; and a soon-to-be additional great-grandchild.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Lee Blumenhorst; twin sister, Margaret McConnell; and brother, Perry Logan.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Carlton Bowden officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
