Theresa M. Burtner, 87 of Indianapolis and formerly of Muncie, died Friday evening, January 26, 2018 on her birthday at Franciscan Hospice Home. She was born January 26, 1931 in Muncie and was the daughter of the late George J., Sr. & Mary H. (Singer) Rahe.

Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, that loved being with her family. She was a very accomplished and creative seamstress, who made beautiful wedding dresses and other garments.  Theresa enjoyed word puzzles, making unique crafts and had a special love for her dogs. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church for many years.

Theresa is survived by her four children, Harold G. Burtner, Jr. (Bonita) of Muncie, Margaret L. Taylor (Richard) of LaGrange, Barbara J. Carter of Indianapolis and Charles F. Burtner (Cindy) of Carmel; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Harold G Burtner, Sr.,  four brothers George Rahe Jr, Richard Rahe, Donald Rahe, and James Rahe; two sisters Mary Perkins and Helen Jones also preceded her in death.
