Thomas Davenport, 65, of Hartford City, IN went to be with the Lord Tuesday July 6, 2010 at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1944 the son of Belvin and Cora (Sellers) Davenport. On July 19, 1971 he married Peggy (White) Davenport.
He was a master woodworker and craftsman. He enjoyed playing the guitar, cooking, and spending time with all his family and grandchildren. He had also been a minister at the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Hartford City, IN.
Surviving relatives include his wife Peggy Davenport of Hartford City, IN; two sons, James Davenport (Jennifer) of Ridgeville, IN; David Davenport of Redkey, IN; seven daughters, Lisa Stanton of Albany, IN; Diana Stone (Phil) of Hartford City, IN; Belinda Carter (Jeremy) of Gas City, IN; Tracy Davenport of Harford City, IN; Becky Dixon (Jim) of Wabash, IN; Mickey Davenport of Redkey, IN; Cindy Davenport of California; two brothers, Jim Davenport (Ann) of Dunkirk, IN; Buddy Davenport (Calista) of Muncie, IN; three sisters, Margaret Ann Foster (Jack) of Dunkirk, IN; Lulabell Lawhorn of Penville, IN; Otine Bogenshutz of Hartford City, IN; 21 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday July 9, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Bobby Thomas will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Dunkirk IOOF Cemetery in Dunkirk, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday July 8, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
