IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas St.
John
May 13, 1948 – May 10, 2025
A man's legacy is not what he leaves for his family, but what he leaves in them." – Unknown
Thomas "Tommy" St. John passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, at the age of 76. A longtime resident of Muncie, Indiana, Tommy was born on May 13, 1948, in Lansing, Michigan, to Louie and Nora St. John.
Tommy was a simple man who lived a life of quiet strength and deep love for his family. He was steady, dependable, and hard-working—dedicating over 40 years to Gas America as a district manager and general manager. His commitment to providing for his family was unwavering, and he did it all with humility and grace.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Tommy served his country with honor in the 101st Airborne Division Artillery Unit during the Vietnam War. Though he rarely spoke of his service, it was a part of him he carried with quiet pride.
He was married to the love of his life, Marilou St. John, for 47 years, and together they built a strong and loving family. He was a devoted father to Tami (Randy) Rankin, Shane St. John, and Lindsay (Stan) Keys. Nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Jordan (Marybeth), Spencer (Mila), Cadyn, Owen, CJ, Henry, Josephine, Tiara (Dylan) Taylor, Dakota, Kylie, Payton, and Kendall, and great-grandfather to Sydney, Brayden, Madison, Christian, Carter, Maddlynn and Kohen. His quiet presence, warm hugs, and genuine love will be deeply missed.
Tommy is survived by his beloved brothers, Norman St. John, Gary (Mary Ann) St. John, and Bobby (Gail) Hebestreit, also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Nora St. John, sister Joyce Rhinehart, brother Timothy St John, and grandsons Caleb and Elijah St John.
Tommy's legacy lives on—not in what he left behind, but in the values, strength, and love he instilled in his family.
Services will be held at Garden View Funeral Home on Friday, May 16th. Visitation from 12-2 with services following directly after.
