Thomas W. Sciscoe, 90, of Albany, IN died Thursday April 19, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on March 30, 1917 in Tipton, IN the son of Thurston D. and Edna E. (Paul) Sciscoe. On July 10, 1944 in Cleveland, Mississippi he married Lula Lee (Sciscoe) who survives.
He was in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He retired in 1981 after 35 years working for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 855. He was a member of the Shawnee Heights Baptist Church. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed reading, watching television, and working on the farm.
Surviving relatives include his wife Lula Mae Sciscoe of Albany, IN; one son, Thomas C. Sciscoe (wife: Lynn) of Albany; two daughters, Gaye Ellen Duncan (husband: Bo) and Leah Jan Davis (husband: Jim) both of Albany; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday April 23, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Dennis Hammons will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. The Delaware County Honor Guard will be providing military rites in honor of Thomas. Visitation will be Sunday April 22, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shawnee Heights Baptist Church or the Ball Memorial Cancer Center.
