Thomas William Simos, 80, of Muncie, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 1, 1930 in Muncie to the late Gus T. and Idell (Campbell) Simos. On June 19, 1954 he married his love, Laura Geraldine Shaneyfelt in Portland, IN.
Tom was an inspector for Warner Gear for 30 years before retiring in 1980. Tom enjoyed fishing, watching Western movies, and spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Laura Simos of 55 years; their daughter Sharon Kane (husband, Art) of Muncie; sister Katherine Paschal (husband, Jim) of Muncie; 2 sister-in-laws: Loretta Simos of Redkey and Helen Nevil of Portland; grandson Christopher Thomas Kane; several nieces and nephews; and special neighbor and friend Tom Beck.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Simos; and 2 sisters: Mary H. Clevenger and Undine Mills.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. A graveside service will be on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
